Hello, friends,

I attended one of the info sessions about the Climate Revival, which was
very helpful, because many of the participants asked really good questions
about what is being planned.
The link above takes you to the "frequently asked questions" section, but
here are some basics:
The event is planned for *September 28 -29.* The planning groups are
putting together *resources for *congregations to carry out the *"revival"
activities on Saturday*; *and* they also have resources for the* Sunday
worship service*. The activities are carried out at the local
congregation. *Congregations
need to register *to receive the resource materials. *Cost is $50 per
congregation.* Need to have *two facilitators who will get training,* but
also need to have other facilitators to cover a variety of suggested
activities. There's a *sermon contest*, a *choir song* being commissioned,
and more.
I would encourage FUUSM to join in this project that emphasizes the
intersectionality of justice and climate action. At our next GSC meeting,
I'll propose that GSC take the lead and pay the $50, but I don't want to do
that without knowing that the Board, the Worship committee, and Rev. Kat
(and really, the congregation as a whole) are on board with this program.
So, please talk amongst yourselves and let me know ASAP if you think this
is something FUUSM can and should do.
Thanks,
Adeline Bailey
