[Green] Solar Bench Possibilities

Ah—that library is being moved to the River Museum site, hence my confusion. Yes, that corner is highly visible and definitely not in the flood zone.

I suspect it is the genealogical library, at the corner of Fifth and Washington—a very visible location. —dawn

Annie and Rebecca, where is the geological society building?
Thanks,

The city might need to give permission for moving it off city property, since it provided the concrete and labor for the original placement. That said, a partnership with the library could be a good thing. In that location, though, we will need to check the updated flood maps. Parts of Front Street have been underwater before, though perhaps not since the dams went in. FEMA does list that address as Zone AE. (I do suspect that the architects are working with the flood maps.)

Please don't move forward on this idea. Roger Kalter, Jay and I are working on this. The library has been approached about placing the solar bench at the geological society building and there is a plan for a garden there. This places the bench in a location where we can more easily monitor it. Jay is planning to repair it once it is moved. We will keep you posted. Annie

Hello, all,

I spoke with Geoff Schenkel earlier today. Two sunny possibilities on city property are Camp Tupper (the field in front of the Quadrannou Mound—lots of walkers and peewee football) or the playground behind Washington School next to the library. What say you?
