[Green] Fwd: Introducing Ohio Valley Environmental Advocates (OVEA)

Dear Green friends,

We’ve got a new ally: Ohio Valley Environmental Advocates! (The organization is based in Grand Rapids, OH, which is near Toledo, which seems strange, but physical distance isn’t as meaningful as it once was.) Most of the email below is about things going on in WV’s northern panhandle (Follansbee is near Steubenville)—which is up-river from us. Whatever goes into the Ohio up there flows past us. There is a petition in the email below to oppose a medical waste processing facility—the likes of which Rhode Island declined to permit in 2021. 

Also, please note the last two paragraphs of the email below: A petition we can sign asking Dewine and PA Governor Shaprio to make take steps to prevent another toxic train derailment occurs, and links to follow OVEA.

It's worth noting Jefferson Metals Recovery LLC is a subsidiary of Jefferson Enterprise Management LLC, where Alfred Salazar, an Empire Diversified Energy Inc. board member, serves as the Director. Additionally, Empire Diversified's Board of Directors includes William Tuorto, Carl Scott Ewusiak, Frank J. Rosso, and Alfred Salazar. The listed agent for the Follansbee branch of Jefferson Metals Recovery is Empire Diversified Chairman William Tuorto.
