Hi Joe,
Night-migrating songbirds are starting to be reported in the area. I respectfully request that all up-ligting on FUUSM be turned off between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. from now through late May.
Here is guidance from bird cast.info, for your optional reading: https://birdcast.info/science-to-action/lights-out/heres-how-you-can-make-a-difference/ <https://birdcast.info/science-to-action/lights-out/heres-how-you-can-make-a-difference/>
But even better, visit birdcast.info <http://birdcast.info/> and scroll down to see the map of bird migration as it occurred the previous night—every night. Or play this LIVE video of bird migration https://birdcast.info/migration-tools/live-migration-maps/ <https://birdcast.info/migration-tools/live-migration-maps/> as it occurred every hour the previous night. Action is hottest between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., as you can see.
Thank you!
—dawn
