[Green] membership strategy

George et al;  I was speaking at the Paw Paw festival so I couldn't join
you on Sunday.  I have been super involved in figuring out how to grow
our membership - it has been a concern since the minute I fell in love
with FUUSM.  For over a year I've worked on a strategy (starting with
Roger's can-do attitude ) to create a Homecoming that would invigorate
both people who have been involved with FUUSM in the past, and new folks
who might like to join us at various levels.  My background is in
community organizing, organzational (non-profit) development and my
entire career demonstrates my ability to see a need and effective design
and carry out a strategy to meet that need.  I'm not looking for a
paying job, but I am completely dedicated to growing our membership.

Thank heavens for my side kick, Roger Kalter or Homecoming would never
have happened.  We've met with Elaine Barr to look at the Homecoming
surveys and we are waiting on her to compile some data.  However, we
have a doable simple strategy for growing membership, and we tried some
of our ideas during Homecoming (tours, and special coffee hours, for
example).  It seems there is a need for a specific committee (to run the
length of the grant so the data completely applies) to follow through
with things and not step on the toes of membership.  There were people
in the surveys that are not involved at any level of FUUSM that might be
willing to help with the committee.

Is it possible to meet up to talk about our ideas?  I am super busy for
the next couple of weeks but could be available in October during the
week.  Annie Warmke
