great letter.. My only concern regarding reaching your readers are your
"big words" in the first sentence of second paragraph.      "Pernicious" is
not in my vocabulary - I get the idea but don't hear or use that word
regularly or  the word "despoilment"..         Again, I can figure it out..
but not words we use every day.
      I looked up Pernicious in Mirriam webster online dict. and syn.
choice and  saw this.
Pernicious has largely stayed true to its etymological root, the Latin noun
pernicies“ruin, destruction.” Its original meaning in English, “highly
injurious <https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/injurious> or
destructive,” usually applies to things (“pernicious apathy,” “pernicious
effects”) and medical conditions (“pernicious fever,” “pernicious anemia”
<https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pernicious+anemia>). When
applied to people, pernicious means “wicked.”
And, yes, George,  it is the perfect word!  so keep it if you like..

Wondering if you'd want to me more straight forward and start with the
issue Injecting brine waste is ....highly

Just a thought. Please don't feel you need to change anything- It's great.
