Cats Dancing on Keyboards...

I tend to be a news junkie.

But in recent weeks, months and years, the outside world has forced me to take a periodic mental health day (or days) away from the news and the Internet.

Even my computer seems to have gone insane (changing the letter format, erasing photos, hiding emails). Then I discovered that Ralphie Cat has taken to walking across the keyboard when I am not looking. If only all the other world's problems could be so easily explained.

Spring is pretending to be here... just in time to wash away my winter blahs. The sunshine and warmer temperatures remind me that we are once again about to host workshops at Blue Rock Station.

There is a themed tour coming up March 12th at 1 pm featuring the gardens and our new high tunnel (learn a little about plant propagation and go home with a new plant). We have changed things a bit this year, only hosting five open tours and limiting them to 20 people each.

I'm really excited about the April 2nd and 3rd forest garden design and plant propagation classes that Chad Cully and I will be teaching together. The high tunnel will provide a dry space for us to meet in case the weather is bad.

And if that doesn't ring your chime, you can join Carie Starr and me (Buffalo Gals Voices) April 23rd for the welding workshop or May 21st and 22nd for the Buffalo Gals weekend encampment.

Spring brings a time of renewal and has a way of reminding us about the positive things in life.

A Note from Jay and Me:

Everyday lately I have a moment when I recall the day last fall when I first met online the Ukrainian Women in Agriculture group. Little did I know what an important part they would play in my life, and that they would become embroiled in today's horrific news.

Over the past few months we have been organizing with the group, making plans for a dozen or more Ukranian women to visit farms here in Ohio to get ideas about how to make their farms and agricultural businesses more profitable and sustainable.

One day they were living ordinary lives and planning to spend time here with us, sharing knowledge and each other's lives. The next moment they were torn apart by the fear and confusion that war has brought to their homes and their country.

We had all planned to get together for a networking dinner on March 15th. We plan to still hold this dinner, but with the additional focus on how we can offer support to these resilient women.
