Dear George, We all are so appreciative of your thorough and thoughtful work for our endangered planet. Great that Charles Schilling reached out. Perhaps there is a bit of a public servant there. Roger

Subject: [Green] Injection Wells Update Green Sanctuary et al.:

There have been two significant events about injection wells that I learned about today:

      1. I spoke to Bob Lane's attorney from Bordas & Bordas about the law suit against brine disposal companies that was filed in Washington County court recently.. The attorney sent me a copy of the legal document--one on behalf of Bob Wilson and one on behalf of Bob Lane (they are identical as much as I can tell). There are 132 allegations against 16 companies including Deep Rock Disposal LLC in each document.. The attorneys decided not to sue the state of Ohio. The two Bobs are seeking all sorts of damages. This litigation is likely to take a long time and cost these companies a lot of money.

     2. President of the county commissioners of Washington County, Charlie Schilling, called me today to report on the visit he made to ODNR on Thursday. He met with the Director ODNR. Ms. Mertz, the Chief of the Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management, Eric Vendel, and Mark Bruce who presided over the meeting on June 2. Charlie made the  point that the June 2 meeting was very unsatisfying for  those who attended because there were no answers to the numerous questions presented. The ODNR officials pledged to arrange public meetings differently in the future so that questions can be addressed. Charlie said  that his constituents want answers to these questions before any application is approved. Charlie also got them to agree to check with the relevant county commissioners and township trustees as soon as an application for an injection well is filed (Arrowhead Road Services submitted their application for well #2 in March 2021, ODNR reviewed it for a year and did not send out the pubic notice until March 2022). Charlie did not say if they had any disposition on the current application for the well in Little Hocking.

Let me know if you have any questions.
