[Green] Climate action events ahead!

Dear Green Friends,

On Tuesday evening, I attended a Zoom event hosted by People vs. Fossil Fuels. I found out about it via, I don’t remember, maybe it was UUMFE, or Green Faith, or Interfaith Power and Light, or some other UU-related email I received.  It was an impressive event, and members of the Indigenous Environmental Network played a big role in the event. i was impressed. Nearly 1,000 people attended from across the continent!!  

A national day of action on climate is planned for August 2

to demand that Biden declare a climate emergency, and that he reject all fossil fuel projects in the future. The organizers encouraged attendees to call or email the White House every day for the next two weeks. Please do it as often as you can: There’s power in numbers.

Wait. One more thing. This Zoom event also included concern for the Mountain Valley Pipeline (natural gas), which will run from not far from Chris and Al’s property in northwestern West Virginia, south into southwestern Virginia. That’s almost local to us. Maybe we should get involved in that!
