Hi George, Once you click on that link there is a green button on the top right to click and open the well locator map. Add in Washington County at the top and it will zoom into Washington County. As Dawn said Pink highlights the injection well. You can zoom in and out with the (+) and (-) buttons. Once you zoom in enough you can click on the dot and it will tell you who the owner is and the status of that location along with gps location coordinates.
Best regards,Claire

 Dawn,
Thanks very much for your persistence and patience in working with the Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management at ODNR. I am still trying to figure out the well-locator map. What does Mr. Schroeder mean by UIC wells? Why can't they just provide us a list of  Class II injection wells in Washington County with their location, owner and status? It may be that I am too dense to figure out the map, but I am suspecting that this process is part of their intentional obfuscation. I'll continue to work on it.

Dear George and other interested greenies:
Here is a map of gas & oil wells in Ohio, including Washington County. Zoom in. Closer! The pink dots are brine injection wells!  You can zoom in really close, and get the GPS coordinates. It ought to be easy (for someone who has more time than I do right now) to find one or two that are visible from a public road.

Good afternoon Ms. Hewitt,

Thank you for your email and for reaching out to the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management.

The information that you are interested in can be found using our online Oil and Gas Well Locator. You can use the Oil and Gas Well Locator athttps://ohiodnr.gov/wps/portal/gov/odnr/discover-and-learn/safety-conservation/about-odnr/oil-gas/oil-gas-resources/well-locator. On the left side of the screen, there is a section called Legends & Layers, under that select Oil and Gas Wells. Under that, you’ll see a section called Well By Status (Active), if you click on the + symbol you’ll see what each dot on the map represents. In this case, the pink dots denote the UIC wells.

Once you launch the Locator and identify the well that you are interested in, click on the dot that represents the well. You should see a link to the Well Summary Report, click on this and a new window should open with the Well Summary Report. Scroll ½ of the way down the Report and you’ll find the production history associated with each well. At the bottom of the Well Summary Report you'll find links to PDF images of documents associated with the well.

I hope that is information is helpful. Thank you again for reaching out to the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management.

Thank you,

Adam Schroeder
