   I have sent the message below to Representative Don Jones (OH 95). I
also left him a phone message  on the same matter.

     Please send him a similar message (change the wording slightly if you
copy mine).

     If you live in Jay Edwards' district (generally west of Rt 60 in
Marietta) please send him the same message.



Mr. Jones,
     I respectfully and sincerely urge you to vote against HB 507--or at
least strip out the portion of this bill which relates to hydraulic
fracturing (fracking) under public lands in Ohio.  As I understand it, the
feature about fracking under public lands was a last-minute edition to this
bill, and no public comment period was offered.  Besides presenting all
kinds of risks (air & water pollution) and degradation (in the form of
roads for commercial vehicles) and water use in these areas, this
legislation assumes that natural gas is "green." Nothing could be further
from the truth; natural gas in the form of methane emissions is 86 times
more polluting than CO2.
