Subject: October 2 Planting Event details
Hello, all,
Our planting event is taking shape! On Saturday, October 2, Phase Two of the Fort Street Pollinator Habitat and Phase One of the Maple Street Butterfly Garden will be planted, with Fort Street designer Andrew Clovis and Maple Street designer Caroline Eels on hand to supervise plant placement. Most of us will start work at 10:00 AM.
Details:
* Please bring gloves and tools. Trowels are essential, but we will need a couple of shovels. Most plants are small (2-4 inches), but we will have some larger grasses for the Fort Street site as well.
* Volunteers have been working to eradicate poison ivy from the Fort Street site, but it is persistent, so long pants are a good idea.
* Parking is available in the Gilman United Methodist Church lot, on Maple Street, and in the gravel area near the walkway entrance on Fort Street.
* Please bring a water bottle. We will have drinking water available but will be using mostly gallon containers (which will be repurposed for winter sowing of wildflower seeds).
Thank you for your support of pollinators, urban biodiversity, and public gardens.
Rebecca
