Hi Rebecca, Unfortunately, we will be in Columbus that day and then the whole family clan will be coming to Marietta for the rest of the weekend and thru Tuesday. I was hoping planting day would coincide on a different weekend so we could pitch in. :-(

It looks as if plants will be arriving by September 22, so we can plant Phase Two the weekend after the plant sale. Jackson of Main Street West is going to be able to line up some Marietta College athletes to help with heavy work like digging out an edging line at the top of the slope, and if they respond, a number of people outside the congregation added their names to a planting volunteers list. Hoping to do our next planting push on Saturday, September 25, at 10:00 AM.
What needs to happen before then:
   - removal of the bamboo poles and cat litter jugs
   - raking back the mulch
   - removal of the solarization plastic and as many of the landscape pins as we can rescue
   - thinning of certain overly enthusiastic cup plant and wingstem volunteers
I am free every morning but Thursday next week, and as far as I know any day after 5. (For anyone interested, there will be a popup demonstration of Safe Streets and pedestrian corridor ideas on Franklin Street from 10-12 on Thursday morning.) Who has time during the week to get the site organized for the Saturday planting event?
Rebecca
