Subject: [Green] Harmar Riverbank Update
Hello, all,
Andrew and I just spent some time at our site. Because of its size, he is
thinking that we need four or five volunteers besides the two of us and Ray
for Sunday afternoon, and probably only a couple of hours. Please let me
know if you are available.
What to wear and bring:
* long sleeves and long pants. I have ripped out a fair amount of
poison ivy, but it is likely still present on the site.
* work gloves
* shovel and/or trowel
* pitchfork. We have decided that the daffodils and magic lilies are
seriously overcrowded and need to be thinned, the extras stored in large
pots and replanted in the fall. I will try to tackle them this week but may
not get them all.
* kneeler if you have one.
And a warning: there is at least one snake living on the site. I startled a
small garter snake while removing daylilies the other day.
