Dear Rebecca, As you firm up plans for May 16 pollinator planting, I could get the cover materials (water containers/bamboo/plastic) off on Saturday or Sunday am. Perhaps that could allow your team to focus on the planting.
Have you heard from Nick Arnold about Lock One Park Stakeholders meeting? I didn’t see your name on list and let Nick know that yesterday. Regards, RogerPS Back from Millersburg Thursday pm.

The daylilies are mature clumps, so we need shovels or pitchforks. (I prefer the latter as it facilitates shaking the dirt off the rhizomes.) Large plastic bags for transporting the plants to either Harmar Beach or the compost farm are also good. I favor the large bags that things like birdseed and potting soil come in--heavier than standard trash bags. (Like cat litter buckets, amazingly useful things.)

We had not settled on a time on the 16th but am guessing after church, so perhaps 1:00 or so (though it occurs to me that that is our Green Sanctuary meeting date). Am watching the weather with regard to Thursday but am thinking noon or later. (I am not a fan of cold.)

Thanks for the update and for all you're doing on this project.
What time on Thursday for the daylilies and what time Sunday for the planting?
On Sunday should I bring the flowers we salvaged last October and saved?

To be ready, we need to clear out a huge swath of non-native daylilies. (Yes, they are gorgeous, but the Ohio DNR has now added them to the list of plants invasive in our state.) I dug some out a couple of weeks ago and passed them on to a volunteer who is trying to eradicate Japanese knotweed and poison hemlock (worse invasives) from another area; he wants more.
