This is the best I've seen on these subjects.  Elsewhere I would have recommended references; but your comparisons are so very simple and well known they don't need references. You shame the Times Editor with comparisons closer at home and more substantive.  Superb.

GSC:

    You may have noticed in the March 11 edition of the Marietta Times the editorial about the environmental impact of wind turbines in Massachusetts.  I see that as opportunity to raise the issue of environmental impacts of extraction industries right here in Washington County.

    I have, therefore, drafted the attached letter to the editor. I would welcome comments/edits. Please send them to me by Sunday at 3 p.m. (I'd like to submit it on March 14),

    If you make changes in the document, please rename it and let me  know what changes you made when you send it back to me. .
