The Williamstown Mayor's office said the wetlands is owned by the owner of DaVinci's, so private property. They said there had been much discussion but the necessary steps to designate it as a protected wetlands area were never completed.

Who owns the property? There was discussion of this property some years ago. And, I thought it was deemed a protected/designated wildlife wetlands area. Who would know?DEB

Subject: [Green] Wetland destruction Team,
I am told that the manager of DaVinci's restaurant in Williamstown wants to fill in the wetland next to her restaurant and develop that land into a Bistro or potentially a casino. This is a small but high quality wetland that provides numerous benefits, such as ecological services, wildlife habitat and community benefits from the developed trail around it and more. Nearly 100 species of birds have been documented at this little wetland. I feel that it is important for you all to be aware of this.
