Annie,

Here are some suggestions for talking points:

-Dupont CITF (Clear into the Future) Sustainability grant program

-$7,500 for one year (?) awarded to Green Sanctuary Committee of First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta

       -Two parts of project:
         1. Solar charging bench (EnGo Mini Smart Bench) for recharging cell phones, laptops, e-readers and other electronic devices
Benefits: reduce emissions by using solar rather than coal-generated electricity, model for sustainability, a place to sit and appreciate nature and scenery, accessible to the general public in underserved area, secure site (lighting and attachments, WiFi service

         2. Riverbank restoration - Restore a section of the riverbank on the west side of the Muskingum River in a section between the RR bridge and the Putnam St. Bridge
Benefits: plants will contribute to taking in CO2,; plants help to prevent erosion, native plants chosen for biodiversity and to attract pollinators; plants & roots will filter water into the river; improve aesthetics in an underserved area

For other details re: proposal to city (attached).
