I know Brian (he's director of programs) and he's a helpful soul but I
don't think it's a good idea to bring someone in at the end when perhaps
everyone else has been involved in "thinking" about this all weekend.
When this happens it tends to throw a wrench into the momentum of what's
happening because the person doesn't know what was discussed and hasn't
had an opportunity to move along with the "group think" that we hope
will happen.
Rural Action loves to keep their hands in things but they don't seem to
be able to keep up any sort of support unless the group is in Athens or
has a grant to support one of their staff people. We will already have
had Erin with us to offer the Rural Action culture input. I would be
happy to contact Brian and flesh out his reason for attending at the end
and offer that we need him to be there earlier in the process to gain
full advantage of his ideas. Just some things to take into
consideration. Annie
