Michael:

   Thanks very much for informing us about the CITF grant opportunity from Dupont and for your work on drafting the responses to the application form. I've reviewed your draft and have the following suggestions/comments (following the numbers of the grant application):

       1. Should we mention that the Sustainability Forum --in a more limited format than is described here- was originally scheduled for the weekend of April 3-4 sponsored by Green Sanctuary that  had to be canceled due to coronavirus restrictions? A CITF grant would be a springboard to a greater project than originally was  envisioned but builds upon much work already established.

       2. Local leaders who were invited for April 2020 Forum and will be invited to CITF-sponsored forum: Marietta mayor, city council persons, county officials, any from WV?

      3.. Provide some examples of workshops, e.g., review of climate science, role of municipal government in addressing climate change, civic engagement for local projects on climate change, Marietta downtown  development plan incorporating renewable energy, review of existing projects involving renewable energy (two Marietta city buildings--courthouse and city garage- have recently installed solar panels), and plans for further projects, solar panels on FUUSM sanctuary and promoting solar panels in other religious buildings,  personal ways to address climate change in one's life. A keynote speaker, Dr. Myra Moss (committed to speaking at the April 2020 forum), professor in Ohio State U Extension Office, addressing what other communities have done in addressing climate change.

       4. Extend "measurable outcomes" to include a 12-month follow-up to ascertain what local government actions for addressing climate change have taken place, progress in developing a formal Marietta sustainability plan, and civic engagement of individuals to address climate change.

       6. How the project is sustainable after CITF grant--Arrange another Sustainability Forum one year after the CITF-sponsored Forum.

        7. Funders--ask individuals to make contributions toward a match for the CITF grant. I'm willing to offer $50.
