Dear Rebecca, Thank you for your vigilance. USA TODAY headline: Ohio Speaker arrested in $60M bribery case. M Times: Five arrested in $60 million bribery case. Fortunately you, George B and Dawn H. help keep us all informed and keep up the good fight. John Lewis would be proud. Roger

If you did not know, First Energy, the company involved in the federal racketeering charges against the speaker of the Ohio House and four other people, is the current holder of Marietta's electric aggregation contract. It also has the support of Bill Dauber of the city administration and at least some members of Council to be the next contracted supplier. The city is accepting bids until July 31. I urge you to write Council requesting that no bid from First Energy be accepted while the continud federal investigation is underway. I have attached my letter to the editor, submitted today,  a list of details from the 82-page criminal complaint should you wish to use any of them, and the complaint itself.
Here is the link to the city's bid description:http://mariettaoh.net/index.php/52-news/279-advertisement-for-bids-engineering

and the contact page for city officials:http://mariettaoh.net/index.php/government-and-services/city-directory

We do have a time issue as bids are only being accepted until July 31.
Rebecca
