[Green] Donate your old shoes to Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action's climate shoe strike project!

Hello, Green friends,

Many of you have already received a notice requesting your help for this 
project planned by Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action (MOVCA):

"MOVCA needs your help!" said *Aaron Dunbar,*MOVCA leadership team 
member. "We plan to participate in a *climate shoe strike on July 25th 
in Parkersburg. *Maybe we could even repeat this action in other 
locations, like relocate it to Marietta one week after we've done 
Parkersburg*.*The idea is that since we can’t assemble in person due to 
COVID-19, we can instead use pairs of shoes to represent citizens 
concerned about climate change, as well as future generations who have 
no voice with which to protest. This only works if we get enough shoes 
to have an impact, and we need your donations to make that happen. Our 
plan is to donate any wearable shoes to a local charity, and recycle the 
rest."

MOVCA is setting up drop-off sites for donated shoes in Parkersburg at 
the First Christian Church parking lot (1400 Washington Ave.) and *in 
the courtyard area at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in 
Marietta (232 Third St.)*

With provisional approval from the Board of Trustees, Mike and I have 
placed a plastic bin near the basement door to the RE/Office Building. 
We put a print-out of Aaron Dunbar's poster (copy attached) on the bin 
so you can easily identify it. Since the bin is not really waterproof, 
we put a plastic bag inside to hold any shoe donations. We'll be 
checking it at least twice a week, so please fill up the bag in the bin 
with any old shoes you no longer need. If the Parkersburg drop-off 
location is more convenient for you, please use it instead.

MOVCA really appreciates any help you can provide for this project. 
Donations will be accepted until July 23rd, but if we can do a Marietta 
shoe strike the next week, we may leave the bin in place a little longer.
