** FLMR is partnering with Marietta College students to organize a river clean-up at Devol's Dam West Side on September 28th from 9AM-12PM.

** Make a Difference Day River Clean-up!

Devol's Dam was was acquired in 2004 in an effort to protect mussel beds which can be found off the river bank. Unfortunately the river current washes large amounts of garbage from the river, mostly plastic bottles, onto the banks of the Devol's Dam property. These plastics can potentially disrupt the endocrine systems of mussels and other species. Also when the river rises it will wash much of the these plastics out to sea where they will kill aquatic life.
We need your help to gather as much of this garbage as possible!


** Event Info:

* What? River clean-ups involve picking up garbage on the river bank. All abilities and ages are welcome. Work clothes and gum boots are recommended.
* Where? Type in Devol's Dam West Side into google maps. Carpool if possible. There is limited parking at the dam. Manual directions: proceed across Putnam Street bridge to
Gilman Ave. to RR tracks
L onto County Road 4 about 2 miles
R onto CR 7 (Huck Rd) go a few yards to
R onto 32 (Muskingum River Road) to a few yards to sharp bend. Park at river.
or
Go straight at the RR to the end of Ash Road and turn R and R.
