Can you be at the Statehouse Wednesday?  Testimony needed against SB 33.

As you may recall, the Ohio General Assembly is considering SB 33 and is almost ready for a full floor vote in the Ohio House.  The bill already passed the Senate.  The 4th hearing on SB 33 is set for this Wednesday, the 9th at 2:00, or after session.  Attached is the notice as well as the witness slip (See below)

SB 33 will have its 4th hearing on Weds.  We need as many people to testify at the statehouse as we can get.  The more we can get to testify in person the more likely we are to get another hearing.

This is an ALEC-modeled bill that is meant to chill demonstrations against the oil and gas industry infrastructure by enacting draconian penalties against protesters and organizations to which they may belong, including to their churches.  This is an assault against both civic and religious freedom.  It is also an unnecessary law, as Ohio already has many laws on the books against trespass and destruction of property.  This is only meant to frighten civic and faith-based protesters and to discourage them from protesting.

Please fill out the testimony form below and bring it with you to the hearing ( 2 p.m. or later Wednesday).
