Dear Dawn, Betsy and I are in for Wednesday’s Dawn, Roger, Betsy Birthday bash at over the moon.
I am supposed to be checking out two under the sink water heating units. $150 each have money. Have to check for electric service. 67 gallon tank in excellent shape we need to upcycle to new home. Ideas?
Meeting with two Homeland Security risk assessors 10 am Tuesday. We’ll get written priority list of suggestions. Is related to sustainable congregation.
Great seeing you and Tim yesterday. Roger

Subject: [Green] Call for agenda items and virtual meeting Friends,
Before I forget: Please do your best to attend the Just Lunch Saturday at Blue Rock Station. I am very disappointed that I will not be able to attend. I’m DYING to visit BRS, but I cannot turn down the opportunity to visit my beloved niece, who will be visiting Ohio from Colorado, on Saturday. This will probably be the only time I’ll get to see her all year, so I can’t miss that.
Now, regarding the May GSC meeting, to be held Sunday: Houston, we have a problem. A potluck luncheon to celebrate and send off Nancy and Ernie Novak will be held during coffee hour. No doubt it will go on way past the usual coffee hour, and several GSC members have signed up for clean-up. We could have a GSC meeting at, say, 3 p.m. But I for one don’t really want to spend ALL DAY Sunday at FUUSM, no matter how much I love it and you and the rest of our congregation!
So: We’ve done it before; let’s do it again. Let’s have a virtual meeting this month. Here’s what I can think of that we need to discuss; please let me know by 7 p.m. Wednesday what I have forgotten. Then, on Wednesday night or Thursday I will send a full agenda, with my thoughts. Please read, think about it and comment in a replay-all. We can discuss by email. No timeline—Dave and Shari, for example, will be out of town until Tuesday the 21st, so they can catch up and comment and discuss when they get home.
The good news is that the Parkersburg Multicultural Festival is the FOURTH Saturday of June, so we can have a regular meeting next month!
So, here is a first draft of an agenda for what we need to discuss:
1. Approval of minutes from April meeting. Adeline mailed them to you on April 24, but I attached them (amended) below, so you don’t have to dig through your old email.
2. Initial plans/ideas/brainstorming for Sustainability Forum (for which we have a $500 budget, plus another $500 in pocket change). Andrew?
3. Any news on replacing RE building water heater? Dave?
4. Actively seeking co-chair for GSC Committee. Friends, there are times of the year—like April through early May especially—when I just can’t do a good job as chair, when I can barely stay on top of my email, and I have no time for things like publicizing a third solar generator class (and to tell you the truth, I had forgotten that we had even decided to do a third solar generator class!), or the Just Lunch. I’m lucky to have found time—and remembered—to throw together the annual report. Lucky for me we have such a great scribe who takes accurate and thorough minutes! Thank you, Adeline!
So many people on this committee have been so helpful, making this committee a true team, in which every member is important, valuable, and valued. But I would be ever so grateful if I had a co-chair with whom to share the leadership. Two of us could do better than I can alone, especially when my travel schedule gets busy. I mean, just having somebody to remind me: "This thing needs to be done. Do you have time to do it?” would be incredibly helpful. Would you consider co-chairing this committee with me?
5. Post mortem on Just Lunch. (I wanna know what I missed!!)
6. Volunteer for Green Tips for June?
7. Things I’ve forgotten.
Please have additional agenda items to me by 7 p.m. Wednesday. I’ll send out the full agenda soon after, and we can discuss until we have answers and solutions enough to last until June 16.
Thanks so much for being on this committee!
