Dear Dawn, Thank you as always for your wonderful efforts and work.
There has not been progress on replacing the 67-gallon hot water heater with 2 source units. I’ve tried to recruit someone knowledgeable to pursue. Units are about $130 each from Home Depot, but may require hard wiring. Time has been my issue. Court yard lighting and Safety Team have taken priority.
Annie and I have spoken about a 12- person, 2 day conference at Blue Rock. It could include 3 new board members, Green Sanctuary and others interested in sustainable future. Some of the $500 could be used to help pay for younger members Tiffany Harvey, Morgan C., Crystal Sheaves.
One of the sustainable issues we talked about is a short window of time for the church to develop a real plan for attracting younger members and friends.
We could consider a specific program to gather all our under 50 folks for brainstorming about things the church can do to attract others such as Cory and Ezra, Sheaves, Bennett’s, Tiffany, Laura C. etc.
We also feed two birds with one seed by offering a community first aid/cpr training course to get our child care and others trained for Church Safety and draw in others for the class who might discover how awesome we are as a church.

Friends,
I think you will agree with me that our virtual meeting in May didn’t go so well. I’m sorry. I should have encouraged more discussion. Thanks to all who did chime in, and thanks to Annie for volunteering to co-chair!!! Yay! Now I just need to figure out how we can share in the steering of this boat!
Our next meeting will be Sunday, June 16, at as close to 12:30 as we can assemble in the RE parlor. The plant sale will begin outside at 1 p.m., and I’m helping with it second shift (2:30 through clean-up), so it will be a busy afternoon.
Here’s what we need to discuss, most of it carried over from our April meeting. What else do we need to discuss? Please send me additional agenda items by 8 p.m. Thursday.
1. Approval of minutes from April meeting.
2. Initial plans/ideas/brainstorming for Sustainability Forum (for which we have a $500 budget, plus another $500 in pocket change).
Andrew has sent some preliminary ideas to Adeline and me. The event will be held Feb. 1 and 2, 2020 and, ideally would kick off Friday, January 31, with a Just Dinner. Many more ideas and brainstorming to follow. Annie Warmke also has ideas and is eager to help plan. It is my understanding that Andrew cannot attend Sunday’s meeting, but we can still brainstorm.
3. Any news on replacing RE building water heater? Dave
5. Post mortem on Just Lunch at Blue Rock Station. What inspiring conversations came out of it? New ideas for projects?
6. George will give a report on his and Darryl’s Climate Change Science presentations in schools
7. Update on CCL efforts. (Dave or George)
8. Anything else I omitted.
9. Volunteer for Green Tips for July?
Hope to see you Sunday!
