[Green] YMCA Race August 10

Fellow Greenies:

    I spoke to Melissa Wigal of the YMCA, who is organizing the August 10 race & walk at East Muskingum Park.

   I told her that we (FUUSM Green Sanctuary) would be willing to collect recyclables (mainly plastic bottles) and that we have recycle containers. She is willing to help with announcements at the race, reminders, and some signs. She asked if we have a sign of our organization. Do we?

    She said that she also expects to have granola bars and bananas. I told her that it's important to keep banana peels and wrappers separate from the recyclables. She seemed to get that.

     The race starts at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers should be ending the race from 8:20 to about 10 a.m. and hanging around for the awards ceremony shortly after 10, drinking water and eating the other treats.

     I'm registered for the race and can help monitor the recycling afterwards.
