This description is great, Dawn. I appreciate the additional suggestions from others as well. I might add our coffee sales as a continuing project toward sustainability in congregational life. I would also emphasize working cooperatively with other committees and groups within the congregation, providing leadership toward the goals of 7th principle.

> The mission of FUUSM’s Green Sanctuary Committee is "To guide and encourage FUUSM and the wider community to live our Seventh Principle and achieve our vision of a sustainable and just world for all.” To that end, our committee is busy year ‘round with sundry projects and events. Members of the committee plan, lead, or assist with these activities, some of which are co-hosted with other groups, including Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action and the Sierra Club. Some recent and typical events we have undertaken include public screenings of environmental-themed films, staffing an Earth Day booth, encouraging and monitoring recycling at local events, letter-writing campaigns, gardening classes, “Just Dinners,” assisting with community meals to reduce waste, fund-raising for bigger projects, such as FUUSM’s solar array and energy-efficiency upgrades to the RE building, and much more. In addition to participating in these events, GSC members are often called upon to brainstorm on our activities and projects. Members of this committee are called upon to think, plan, and do!
