Thanks for your thoughts on the matter of a candidates' night. My own preference would be to do a candidates' night in the fall just before the general election--once the candidates of the major parties have been identified. There will be more interest at that time, and our efforts more concentrated.

Do we really want to do a candidates' night?
I believe the first thing we had to do was find a venue and/or co-sponsors. I was originally thinking we needed to do it the same time as MOVCA, but I've changed my mind. Is there a week night during April 16 -20 when FUUSM's Social Hall is available? Wednesdays and Thursdays are taken, I think, but maybe Monday or Tuesday would work IF we want to try getting something set up like MOVCA plans for WV. My understanding is that Dawn said no co-sponsor at WSCC; Chris was to check at MC. How about other environmental groups like Sierra Club or Keep Wayne Wild with local chapters? At the very least, they could set up info tables and ask some questions.
If we want to do this at all, we need to invite candidates very soon. MOVCA is inviting 27 people who would have constituents in Wood County. Mike and I made a rough list for Ohio but need to review it before we pass it on. I can revise MOVCA's invitation to be a GSC invitation. Before I make the effort, I'd like to know that it's something we want to do. We sort of said we wanted to try it at the meeting, but I didn't sense overwhelming enthusiasm. Could we take a vote (by email) about doing this?
Thanks,
Adeline
