Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Candidate Night-
Some info about our possibility of a fall candidate night. Chris spoke
with Richard Danford, v.p. of student life at Marietta College. He was
very interested in the college participating and hosting such an event. He
said the McDonough Center would be a great spot to hold the event. He
would like to put together a team of MC faculty from various departments,
including the science and political science dept, and perhaps leadership
program to discuss and make further plans.
Chris did let him know that our intention is to specifically address
questions related to environmental issues. And that various related
community organizations would like to set up tables at such an event.
We would need to have some FUUSM/Green Sanctuary representatives to be
involved with the college as a part of this planning team. Any
volunteers? I am assuming the next step would be to contact Richard
Danford as we begin the specific planning process.
---------
Hoedown
I will need a check for the Betsey Mills for the gym rental for the
hoedown, not sure how to go about that process, whether to write a personal
check and then seek reimbursement from FUUSM/Green Sanctuary or whether
FUUSM would write a check directly to the Betsey Mills. Please advise me
about the correct procedure.
Michelle Wilson has created an event on Facebook for the hoedown. I have
also shared the information with the Wash. Co. 4-H and MOV squaredance
facebook page.
Adeline has some flyers, and I will make more. Please help by posting them
in area businesses. Maybe we can get some in the windows downtown before
First Friday, increasing our visibility. I will send out the press release
to the Mtta Times tomorrow. Any other suggestions for advertising are
welcome!
We'll also need some donations of delicious snacks, so if you're willing to
donate please let me know. I'll start a list. Adeline and I were also
talking about setting up an information table, similar to what we have at
Earth Day to make it easy and avoid too much extra work. If anyone has
suggestions, please bring them to the next Green Sanctuary meeting.
Thank you!
Kelcey Jacobs
