Fellow Greenies:

As most of you probably know, I have posted a campaign for our interfaith dialogue project on Faithify, the crowd-funding source of the UUA.

It strikes me that our efforts at finding funds for the $10,000 matching grant for expansion of our solar panels would be a good fit for a Faithify campaign. We have already installed the major portion of our solar panels so we are offering a project for which we can demonstrate prior commitment. We should probably ask for a portion of the match, i.e., $2,000-4,000) rather than the whole thing.

Since I have been through this process once, I can help with the application materials.

Faithify campaigns are best disseminated through social media such as Facebook. We can broadcast our campaign to regional and local environmental groups and friends/acquaintances we know through such groups.

As a crowd-funding source, Faithify is best suited to visual images. With that in mind, we should record photos, as well as a video (if possible), of our Solar Open House this Sunday. Even if we don't do a Faithify campaign, it would be good to have a visual record of this event. I can take some photos. Others with cameras would also be helpful.

We can discuss the timing of a Faithify campaign --probably in September after the current interfaith dialogue campaign is over and most UU congregations are starting to function for their new year.

Check out the interfaith dialogue project at:

       www.faithify.org

Also check out the campaign being done by the Charleston WV UU congregation for repairs and upgrades of their property--they have photos.

     Others' thoughts...?
