[Green] Recycling bin, and winter garden series

Patti and others,

Plastic bags are collected at the Marietta Area Recycling Center. See http://mariettarecycling.org/accept.php <http://mariettarecycling.org/accept.php> and scroll down to the Plastics section.

I often take recyclables there from work as well as from home (since the recycling center accepts more plastics than Rumpke curbside), and they have a ginormous plastic bag for plastic bags.

Therefore, we might need another bin for the UU kitchen.

Of course, everything might change if the Board okays a recycling bin from Rumpke. Rumpke.com <http://rumpke.com/> is explicit on what recyclables it will accept at the curbside from homes, but it doesn’t say what it will accept from businesses. I suspect it is the same (see http://www.rumpke.com/for-your-home/recycling <http://www.rumpke.com/for-your-home/recycling>), which means that the only plastics they accept are bottles and jugs.

Unless I hear from others, I’ll send this letter to the Board tomorrow (Tuesday night), as well as a letter Heather and I wrote asking AA to please recycle when they use the Fellowship Hall. (But it says it in a friendly, cooperative way.)

With her connections to the Master Gardeners, maybe with luck, like last year, all we need is a volunteer to organize the classes, and all we have to do is reserve the fellowship hall. I hope. I’ll put the wheels in motion—unless there objections. If so, please speak up soon!
