[Fuusmchat] Is "the inherent worth and dignity of every person" a racist principle?

You can't make this stuff up. Dr. Sofia Betancourt, the president of the
UUA, says she struggles with our first principle because "*language of the
inherent worth and dignity of every person comes from Immanuel Kant, the
literal father of modern racism.*" Kant probably also believed in
motherhood and apple strudel. If we can't agree on "the inherent worth and
dignity of every person," what can we agree on? Must we reject "all men are
created equal" from the Declaration of Independence because Jefferson had
slaves? Dead white men have their flaws, they're not perfect like our
leaders.
