We are proud to share a prayer this week from the Islamic tradition, as our Muslim brothers and sisters prepare to observe Ramadan beginning Thursday evening. Wishing Ramadan Mubarak!
Prayers from Chautauqua's Interfaith Family
No. 7 • From the Islamic Tradition
In the name of God, the All Merciful, the Ever Merciful.
Oh God, we know you are the peace and from you comes the peace. We ask that you usher us into the abode of peace.
We know Chautauqua is an earthly manifestation of peace. We recall the peace we gave to each other at Chautauqua. We recall the way Chautauqua inspires us to bring peace into the world.
We make this intention: to be reflections of your light, participants in your peace and protectors of each other.
We ask for YOUR protection, and your goodness, Oh Master of All the Worlds.
Amin

Download Prayer Card No. 7
This is the seventh in a weekly series of Prayers from Chautauqua's Interfaith Family (previous prayers are archived here) as the world copes with the realities of the COVID-19 crisis. We are asking 2020 lecturers and chaplains, and other members of Chautauqua's interfaith family, to write a brief prayer from their own tradition, praying the way prayers are said in their faith tradition, as a reminder to each of us that though we use different names for God, worship with different words, and express our faith in multiple ways, we are drawn together by our common humanity, especially in these difficult times.
We hope you'll spend those moments joining other Chautauquans in recalling and giving thanks for the many blessings we enjoy as members of our unique community. The button above links to a printable reflection card — post it near your kitchen sink, or inside the frame of your bathroom mirror. Use it to 1) make sure you’re washing your hands long enough to do some good, and 2) to take a moment and remember Chautauqua and one another in your prayers.
We send this with our best wishes for your health and well-being in these anxious times.
