[Fuusmchat] Tree of Life

Hi FUUSM friends,


The tree of life for democracy and our social justice work is up in the sanctuary. As I mentioned last week this is a participatory project. If you are willing we have made symbolic green leaves for you to write about democracy and this social justice work.


Nancy Lee and I will be handing out these "leaves at Sunday's service for you to write on them about some aspect of this work. Here is a handy but incomplete list of some of them -- social justice for:

  *   the earth or planet
  *   the animals
  *   the disabled
  *   economic equality
  *   public education
  *   clean energy
  *   freedom for all
  *   affordable health care
  *   human rights
  *   LGBTQ equality
  *   prison reform
  *   racial justice
  *   social justice
  *   women's rights

to name just a few, add your own or some thing else. There will be a basket for you to hand them back and we will put them on the tree. We will be doing this all month. Maybe by the end of the month the tree in the sanctuary will reflect the greening of Marietta this spring.
