Rebecca,
Actually, I have been looking into doing some teaching, just for something
to do. Marietta College doesn't need me this year. I applied to
Washington State but not yet to WVUP. My degree is in sociology, not
English, but I have taught writing in a 'writing across the curriculum'
program using the Penguin Writers Manual. It was in a "Sociology of
Communication" course.
I did volunteer to teach a Learning in Retirement course in the winter
term, which would probably start at 3 on Friday. But that could be
flexible. How long is the term? Three days a week is a lot, but I could
try it once. Right now, I'm interested in utopias, which is something
students could write about.
Is this a college credit course, or a high school course? I've never
taught high school, but I suspect that "gifted" hs students might be more
interesting than the average at Rutgers Camden.
My resume is available online
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vUMYRbabcyfQHdqbfFExYPIcmOgc-Ut8ZU2b5X9x6io/edit>.
As you can see, I've done a lot of writing, some of which is sort of
literary, e.g, Antioch Review.
