Kudos to Work Day Contributors
Thanks to all who participated in the Buildings & Grounds work day on
Saturday. Jim Grecni and Nohl Johnson removed a lot of debris and a few
young trees from the roof of our sanctuary--work no one would detect, but
critically important. Others trimmed, washed, weeded, hauled, repaired
pews, organized in the kitchen and social hall, and undertook other unnamed
but much appreciated maintenance, repair, and prevention.

Still Seeking Permanent Coffee Hour Volunteers

Seeking *five* new Coffee Hour volunteers: one to work with the Banzigers on
 the first Sunday of even months (starting THIS Sunday, Oct. 5); two to
work with Martha McG. on the fourth Sunday of even months (starting Oct.
26); and two to work with Jill Jacoby on the third Sunday of odd
months (starting
Nov. 16). That’s a three-hour shift just six times per year! If you can

or text (812-320-3449) Dawn, the church lady.

*Randall's Address*
Randall remains at the Altman Hospital Campus in Columbus. He enjoys and
appreciates the cards he's received so far. There are no known plans for
him to be transferred to Marietta, so please drop him a line again. And
maybe you can clip a word puzzle of some sort--crossword, Jumble, etc. to
include with the card? He has requested crossword puzzles.

*Men's Group Rescheduled for FOURTH Wednesday*
This month's Men's Group host, Chris Jacobs, has rescheduled the gathering
for the fourth (not the third) Wednesday of October. That's October 22.
Adjust your calendars, men.

   11 a.m., Sunday service, sanctuary. "South Africa & Apartheid:
   Pluralism, Power, and Penguins Pete Mather, of the Athens Unitarian
   Universalist Fellowship and a professor at Ohio University, will be here to
   provide the reflection.
