How do you repair a broken jack-o-lantern?

Don't forget: Collecting for Norwood Thanksgiving!

Please don't forget that we hope to send a big check to Norwood United
Methodist Church to support its Community Thanksgiving Meal. We would like
to have all donations* by Nov. 15*. Write checks to FUUSM, and write
"Norwood" in the memo line. Mail checks to FUUSM, 232 Third St., Marietta,
45750, or hand them to Dawn when you see her. We'll also be serving
approximately 40 of those meals in the FUUSM social hall to patrons of the
Community Resource Center on Thanksgiving Day, coordinated by Nancy Lee and
Shari Ballantyne. Thanks to those two for spearheading this worthy project,
and to all who have already donated.


The Week Ahead:

Today, Monday, Oct. 27

   -

   7 p.m., Finance Committee meeting, Zoom

Tuesday, Oct. 28

   -

   2:30–6:30 p.m., Girl Scouts in social hall.

Friday, Oct. 31: Halloween, Samhain begins (halfway through autumn, end of
harvest season)

Saturday, Nov. 1: Day of the Dead; Samhain

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m.; set your clocks back an hour before
going to bed!

Sunday, Nov. 2: Day of the Dead

   -

   9:30 a.m., Choir practice, sanctuary
   -

   11 a.m., Sunday service, sanctuary.  El Dia De Los Muertos and Its
   Lessons, with Rev. Hilary Krivchena, guest speaker. Please bring a photo
   or memento of a loved one who has passed for display in the sanctuary.
   -

   Coffee hour!  Social hall. Ends at 1 p.m.* Let's be sure to leave the
   social hall neat as a pin afterwards, because....*
   -

   2:30–7:30 p.m., Peoples Bank Theater in social hall (Mountain Stage!)
   -

   Use a pumpkin patch.
