Why do elephants drink so much?

*Norwood Thanksgiving Update*
Thanks to all who contributed to Norwood United Methodist's Community
Thanksgiving meal fund! We sent them a check for $880 in support of this
worthy endeavor. Norwood is also seeking helpers for food prep, clean-up,
and delivering meals, starting at 1 p.m., Weds., Nov. 26, and on
Thanksgiving Day starting at 7 a.m. To volunteer, call Norwood UM Church at
(740) 374-5606. We will be serving some of those meals here in FUUSM’s
social hall to clients of the Community Resource Center. To help with that,
contact Shari Ballantyne or Nancy Lee.

*UUA events that sound worthy*
The FUUSM office receives a lot of email from the Unitarian Universalist
Association (UUA) promoting social justice, environmental, and other worthy
online events and other opportunities. I forward some of them to the
fuusmchat email list because they are not specifically FUUSM related.
(FUUSM-l, this list, is supposed to be exclusively for FUUSM-related
content; fuusmchat at fuusm.org is for other stuff, and not everyone is on it.
Check with tech at fuusm.org (that's Ralph) to see if you're on it, or to ask
to be on it if you wish.)

Anyway, I'm going to attach two items I received today below the Week Ahead
schedule, rather than bombarding you with separate emails. They are both
relevant to UU congregations in Ohio. Please read on after you read the

I am Jan Phillips and I am a member of First UU Columbus.  I am also a
member of the FILA Committee, a justice program of First UU.  We have
