Some already know this, but for those who haven’t yet heard, Jane Tumas-Serena’s Laura Darkheart passed away yesterday after complications from surgery.

We will remember Laura’s beautiful voice that she shared with us on many occasions. Who could forget the many times she sang Ave Maria on Christmas Eve. And we were blessed by the taste of her delectable cakes. My favorite was the chocolate with cherries on top. Laura also served as RE director. 

She also sang at community events such as the MOV Multi Cultural Festival and the Indigenous People’s Day.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life sometime in the spring. 

Please keep Jane, Eric, their two sons and all the family in your thoughts and prayers.
