Celebration of the Lives of Sam and Else Lamba

Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m., meet at Point Park in Parkersburg to catch the
sternwheeler to the Blenerhassett Island, where Sam and Else’s ashes will
be released at 10:30. Celebration of life and picnic to follow at noon at
Fort Boreman Park.

Haikus Wanted!

Feel free to send the haikus you wrote during service last Sunday—or at any
other time—to Dawn on or before 10 a.m. on Monday, August 25. She will
compile them and submit them for publication in The Confluence, and maybe
we'll post a link to them on the FUUSM website!

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed!

Coffee Hour volunteers are urgently needed for the third Sunday of odd
months (starting Sept. 21), the first Sunday of even months (starting  Oct.
5) and  the fourth Sunday of even months (starting Oct. 24). That’s a
three-hour shift just six times per year! If you can help, please talk to,
email, text or call Dawn.

Sewer Line Work to Begin MONDAY!

Pioneer Pipe will be digging up the sewer line between the sanctuary
building and Third Street tomorrow to replace the root-infested, probably
cracked line. Sewer service (and presumably water service) will be cut off
during the three-day work time that is expected.

sanctuary building for three days. Weather or unforeseen problems could
extend the repair.

Wednesday, August 20: Sewer work; no water in sanctuary building

   6 p.m., Men’s Group potluck, social hall. Postponed until Aug. 27.
