Lots of news this week. But first: Have you read the new book on
anti-gravity?

*Substitute Church Lady Needed Aug. 18, 19, 21, and 22*
Would you mind spending a few hours in the FUUSM office, answering the
phone, bringing in the mail, overseeing usage of the ball-and-chain key,
cleaning out a file drawer if you get bored (optional)? No emailing or
creating an OOS required. Dawn will be heading north for a week and needs
someone to staff the FUUSM Office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, August
18, 19, 21, and 22. You can sign up for two hours, a whole 4-hour shift—or
two or three or four!  Any help you can provide would be of great service
to FUUSM and to Dawn. Please email her at fuusm.office at gmail.com, call

that anti-gravity book: You won't be able to put it down!

*Haikus Wanted!*
Feel free to send the haikus you wrote during the Sunday service—or at any
other time—to Dawn on or before 10 a.m. on Monday, August 25. She will
compile them and send them to Ted for publication in *The Confluence*, and
maybe we'll post it on the FUUSM website!

*Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed!*
Coffee Hour volunteers are urgently needed for the *fourth Sunday of even
months* (starting *Aug. 24), the third Sunday of odd months* (starting
Sept. 21), and the *first Sunday of even months *(starting  Oct. 5). That’s
a three-hour shift just six times per year! If you can help, please talk
to, email, text or call Dawn.

*Sewer Line Work to Begin Aug. 18*
Pioneer Pipe will be digging up the sewer line between the sanctuary
building and Third Street on Monday, Aug. 18, to replace the root-infested,
probably cracked line. Presumably water service (and sewer service) will be
cut off during the three-day work time that is expected.

*Men's Group Rescheduled to Aug. 27*
In case weather delays the sewer line work past Wednesday, host Jim Grecni
has moved Men's Group to Aug. 27, NOT Aug. 20.

   2:30–6:30 p.m., Girl Scouts in social hall.

Wednesday, August 13

   6 p.m., Women’s Group potluck, social hall. Diana Bonnell and Lori Flis
   will host.

Saturday, August 16

    9:30–10:30 a.m., Tai Chi for beginners, social hall (Darryl Ting).

   10:30 a.m., Tai Chi reunion

Sunday, August 17

   -

   9:30 a.m., New UU class, social hall: FUUSM Congregation … Governance,
   Covenant & Participation
   -

   9:30 a.m., Choir practice resumes!!, sanctuary.

   11 a.m., Sunday service, sanctuary.
   -

   Coffee hour!  Social hall. Ends at 1 p.m.
   -

   12:30ish, Green Sanctuary Committee meeting, RE parlor.
