A mainstream protestant says to a Unitarian Universalist, "I hear that you
welcome all sorts of weirdos in your church.... atheists, Buddhists,
Pagans…"

The UU replies...... (read on)
*Announcements*

*Please Pledge!*
Please fill out and return your FY2024–2025 FUUSM pledge form if you have
not done so already. Knowing how much operating revenue to expect for the
next fiscal year is critical to preparing a budget! We *deeply *appreciate
your donations, but if you can tell us how much to expect for July 1, 2024
through June 30, 2025, we'll appreciate them even more! If you did not
receive or misplaced your pledge form, please see George Banziger or the
church lady.

*Honoring Brodie DeLancy*
Those who wish to help out the DeLancy family during this heartbreaking
time of loss are encouraged to send a check directly to the family to help
with expenses. Laura Delancy, 13333 SR 550, Fleming, OH 45729.

*Please Sign Up to Help with Coffee Hour & Cleanup*
The current schedule of Coffee Hour & Cleanup volunteers will run through
March 31. But starting in April, let's try something new: Will you sign up
to help out with Coffee Hour just six times per year? Please claim the
first or second or third or fourth Sunday of every odd month, or every even
month, and email *dawnbirder at gmail.com <dawnbirder at gmail.com> *with your
preference. (Coordinating Coffee Hour is *not *in the church lady's job
description.) Six times of year on a regular schedule? That's not too
demanding, is it? Coffee Hour depends upon volunteers, and if not enough
people step up, what will we do?? Please sign up!

*MOVCA Film Screening and Discussion Feb. 22 via Zoom*
Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action is hosting a *virtual* screening of *Atomic
Hope - Inside the Pro-Nuclear Movement*, followed by a conversation where
we will discuss the film and hear what others think about the use of
nuclear energy, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 7–9:30 p.m. *Screening
this film is not an endorsement of nuclear energy. *Through films and open
discussions, Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action seeks to educate ourselves and
others about the pros and cons of nuclear power and other non-carbon energy
sources. The film is an observational Irish feature documentary that
follows a group of “pro-nuclear” activists. They believe we now need to
urgently re-address our feelings on nuclear power if we are to have any
hope of decarbonizing our energy systems before the effects of catastrophic
climate change wreak havoc. Reservations are required for this free event.
To reserve your access to the film and discussion, please visit this link:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the meeting.

Hancock Planetarium. Before the screening, Dr. David Torbett, professor of
religion, will discuss the role of music in Black churches and the cultural
significance of gospel music. Local singer Karen Walker will perform a
gospel song. Then, stay for a showing of the first episode of *Gospel*,
which explores the rich history of Black spirituality through sermon and
song from executive producer, host, and writer Professor Henry Louis Gates,
Jr. This unique community event is free and open to the public. Don't miss
this entertaining and educational evening highlighting an important art
form with deep roots in both African American culture and our region.
