[Fuusm-l] FUUSM Flooding Potential

FUUSM Congregation,



Due to the heavy rainfall in the Ohio River drainage, we are expecting
flood conditions in Marietta.  Roger Kalter has been monitoring the
situation and has already taken the precaution of valving off the sanitary
sewer lines in the church building to prevent back-up.  As a result, DO NOT
USE ANY WATER in the church building (RE building use is OK).  Roger has
posted notices on the doors.



The OH River is projected to crest at 40.5 ft at mid-day Thursday.  If it
plays out that way, we should be OK.  But past history tells us the
projections are kinda iffy, and the current estimate does not leave much
room for error. Hence the precautionary measures and the frequent
monitoring.



If Roger determines at some point we need to begin elevating or moving
things in the church basement, we will need people power and
equipment/material to do that.  So be doing some contingency planning of
what resources you might contribute to that task.  And let me know by email
or phone so we can develop a call-out list in case we need to respond.



We wanted you to be aware of the situation.  Roger is on it.  We’re good
right now ... but standing by.

Sorry we can’t be more specific, but we just don’t know more right now.
