*Sad News*

On Easter Sunday morning we heard Brad Bond had suffered a heart attack and
have learned that because of pneumonia and other complications he died at
the hospital. He moved to Glenwood in December 2023, but lived for many
years on Hillside Way. Our sympathy and support go out to his twin
daughters Ellen and Barbara, his son Jeffrey and their families, and Becky
Wright and Brad’s many friends.

Brad Bond was one of the long term members of FUUSM, (signed the membership
book in 1973) and at 94 years of age, one of our beloved elders. He love
music and nature and was very knowledgable about these and other topics,
sharing his gifts in the wider community. He was a loyal and valuable
member of the Marietta Recycling Center, volunteering nearly every day,
rain or shine. He and his friend Becky Wright offered wonderful birding
events, and travel slideshows and dinners for the Service Auction over the
years.

Brad Bond put his faith into action by such endeavors, and I encourage you
to consider helping at the Marietta Community Recycling Center, in tribute
to his loyalty and commitment to environmental activism.

Your memories and stories are most welcome. I recall that he regularly
operated the display of the lock and dam system at Earth Day in Marietta, so
plan to celebrate Earth Day with a tribute memorial to Brad Bond on Friday
April 19th at 5pm at FUUSM.

In faith
