Dear FUUSM Members and Friends:With cold weather fast approaching, a few of us recently discussed what FUUSM could do for the needy in our community. Shari Ballantyne suggested collecting warm clothing, an idea that had been discussed prior to COVID. On Saturday, November 18, the Fellowship Hall is not booked for any other events, so we have asked Dawn to put this on the books.  We’ll put up a sign on the fence a few days prior so that the word gets out. The Fellowship Hall will be open from 11 am to 3 pm on Thursday, November 16, and Friday, November 17, for drop off of your gently worn items. Anyone who wants to help sort and curate -especially on Friday - is VERY welcome. I’m sure we’ll have some snacks and the coffee pot will be on.  We hope to collect clothing for all genders and ages, including shoes, socks, hats, scarves and gloves.  It was also suggested that blankets, throws and backpacks would be appreciated and useful. Shari and I will take responsibility for seeing that leftovers are donated where they might be most needed, and we’ll be open to suggestions. Anyone who has donations but cannot drop them off during the specified time frames may call Shari or me to make other arrangements.  We’ll be sending out reminders, but please make a note to participate in this worthy effort.  As everyone knows, it takes a village to make these things successful.
