FUUSM Members & Friends:

Virginia Henthorn has come up with an idea to generate some
considerable funds for the Service Auction. It is amazing that Virginia has
been able to get this far in the planning of an idea for a cruise on the
Valley Gem open to all FUUSM members and friends. She has been dealing with
a lot related to the medical issues that Bruce is experiencing. On Friday
Virginia asked if she could pass the ball on this project. Gillian Abbott,
who is making poster for the event, and I have had several conversations,
and I have had several other conversations with the booking person at the
Valley Gem.

Virginia has arranged for 12 FUUSM families to commit to the cost of
booking a reservation for Valley Gem cruise. With that cost covered, all
other members & friends would be invited to participate in the event at the
cost of $30/person, The resulting funds will become part of the income for
the Service Auction. There will be some food offered that we can take on
the boat (but not present in a buffet style since there will be other
non-FUUSM people on the cruise).

The booking office at the Valley Gem has generously agreed to hold two
dates for us: May 7 (afternoon times) and June 11 (5-7 pm) ; they're
holding these dates until Monday March 27. I will call her about our final
choice then. The Valley Gem is heavily booked; for example, almost all
Saturday dates are already reserved.- so choices are limited. We also tried
to consider other Service Auction events and FUUSM events in identifying
these dates.

      My question is:

For those who would be interested in purchasing this item as part
of the Service Auction, which of those two dates do you prefer? Please let
me know before Monday a.m.

I'll keep a tally and call the Valley Gem office on Monday.
