[Fuusm-l] FUUSM Order of service, June 18, 2023: Picnic in the Park

There is no order of service, because there will be no Sunday service in the FUUSM sanctuary this week. Also, no Zoom, and no Facebook Live. Instead, we will have a potluck picnic at Parkersburg City Park, Shelter #5, which is not the shelter we’ve used in years past. At noon is an interfaith service on the Main Stage of the MOV Multi Cultural Festival. We hope you will join us for the picnic and the service. 

Parkersburg City Park is about 15 south of Marietta. Take I-77 south to exit 176, which is US 50, and keep right. Stay in the right lane to exit onto WV 618/E. 7th St. Turn right onto E. 7th St. and go 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Park Avenue. In .2 miles, the park will be on the right. You’ll enter near the fountain, which looks like an eyeball on the attached map in the lower right corner. Look for “Playground” on the map. Shelter 5 is close to its lower left corner. 

(Map geeks like the church lady will be annoyed that the pond is actually at the north corner of the park.)

• Noonish: Green Sanctuary Committee meeting, somewhere near Shelter 5.
Monday, June 19: Juneteenth!  FUUSM Office Closed. Weekly Update will be emailed on Tuesday.
Tuesday, June 20
• Content for The Confluence is due. Send items to fuusm.confluence at gmail.com.
• 3:30-6:30 p.m., Girl Scout troop meets in FUUSM social hall.
Wednesday, June 21
• Noon, meditation via Zoom.
• 6 to 8:30 p.m.,  Men’s Group, hosted by Al Tuttle  at Rising Moon Farm, Tyler County,  Middlebourne WV.  Please bring a lawn chair.  Men are welcome to come early (4:30-5:00) and tour the farm, socialize, and take in the country air.  Dinner will be picnic fare – around 6:30 PM.  Al will provide burgers and hot dogs, ice tea, and lemonade.  
• UUA General Assembly begins. Rev. Kat and FUUSM delegates Rebecca Phillips and Karen Binkley will be attending.
Sunday, June 25
• 9:30 a.m., Buildings & Grounds Committee meeting, social hall
• 11 a.m., Sunday Service: Steve Free brings music and stories
• 11 a.m. MOV Friends (Quakers), RE building parlor
