Today, Monday, July 3: Rev. Hawbaker begins two-week vacation.
Tuesday, July 4: FUUSM Office closed for Independence Day.
* 3:30–6:30 p.m., Girl Scout troop meets in social hall. (Maybe not this week.)
Wednesday, July 5
* Noon, meditation via Zoom.
* 5 p.m., Worship & Music Committee, RE building parlor.
Saturday, July 8
* 5 p.m., Circle Supper at Rising Moon Farm, home of Al Tuttle and Chris Hoke (and totally worth the drive). Please RSVP; carpooling encouraged. See below.
Sunday, July 9
* 11 a.m., Sunday service, sanctuary; “Ever Willing: Becoming the People Our World Needs,” Worship Leader: Rebecca Phillips. Recorded service from General Assembly. The pandemic has wrought change and created uncertainty for institutions, like our Unitarian Universalist congregations, and our wider world. Who and what are we becoming, individually and collectively?
* 11 a.m. Quaker Meeting for Worship, RE parlor.
* If you walk into a Unitarian Universalist church and see someone kneeling with their head bowed, it means they are tying their shoelaces or have dropped a contact lens.
* 7 p.m., MOV Climate Action film screening: Addicted to Plastic, FUUSM social hall. The public is welcome to this free event.
Circle Supper will be at Rising Moon Farm on July 8
The July Circle Supper will be Saturday, July 8, at Rising Moon Farm, the home Chris Hoke & Al Tuttle. Official start time is 5 p.m., dinner around 5:30, however, people are welcome to come a little early to tour the grounds, sit on the deck and converse, play some yard games, or, if ambitious, pull a weed or two. Please bring a dish to share, and lawn chairs if the weather looks nice. Rising Moon Farm is situated in rural Tyler County, West Virginia. It is approximately 10 miles from the Ohio River and 40 miles north of Parkersburg, WV, and seven miles southwest of Middlebourne, WV. Carpooling is suggested. Dinner will be early to accommodate driving home in daylight. Click Here for Detailed Directions and a Map.
