[Fuusm-l] Circle Suppers

First UU Family,



You probably noticed that there has been no Circle Supper announced for
February.  That’s because no one volunteered to be the host.  So consider
this a dual purpose e-mail … to announce that there is no February Circle
Supper and to recruit Circle Supper hosts for the coming months.



Circle Suppers are a great way to get to know people in the congregation
better.  The conversations are always interesting, the company enjoyable,
and the food tasty.  And while they are potlucks, we still need someone to
host them.  Hosts typically provide the place, tableware and refreshments,
and whatever organization is needed.  I’ll handle the announcements and
reminders.  We work within whatever limitations you may set (numbers of
people, child-friendly or not) for your home.



To lighten the burden of hosting, I am encouraging two things … have the
Circle Suppers at the FUUSM Fellowship Hall and team up with other people
to host.



Circle Suppers at the FUUSM Fellowship Hall reduces the amount of work
involved since any prior cleaning is already done.  Also, there are
sufficient tables, chairs, tableware and dishes already available.  If you
do use the Fellowship Hall, just remember to clean up and return it to the
condition you found it or better.  So, if you think your home can’t
accommodate a Circle Supper, just have it at the FUUSM Fellowship Hall.
For those who would like to host in their home, there is still that option.



The second thing I would strongly encourage is to team up with others and
jointly host.  That way, the work gets split up and not only is the
individual work load reduced greatly, but there is a lot more flexibility
in dealing with specific tasks.



Please check your calendars for the coming 2nd Saturday dates this year …
March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October
14, and November 11.  If you would like to host during a particular month,
but not on that date, we can re-schedule.  If you are inclined to host, but
not sure about anything else (a specific date, other people to team up
with, etc.), just let me know.  I can do the follow-up to get the rest
organized.



A central characteristic of our FUUSM Family is the sense of community that
we have.  And Circle Suppers have been an important vehicle for building
that community.  So please consider hosting a Circle Supper.
